Gilbert Victorious with Shimano Dura Ace Tubeless Wheels
Irvine, CA.
Française Des Jeux rider Philippe Gilbert proved the competition worthiness of Road Tubeless wheels as he crossed the line first after a 22KM solo break away with his Dura Ace WH-7850 SL wheels in the Omloop Het Volk.

The Belgian European semi-classic race traditionally abuses participants with cold weather, cobblestones, and steep climbs and the 2008 version would not disappoint. In fact, the 63rd edition of the race would throw 11 grueling climbs and 16 KM of cobbles at the riders.

In a move that would prove beneficial, the FD Jeux team director gave the green light to ride the Shimano Dura Ace Road Tubeless wheels after a pre-race course evaluation. The ability to run lower pressures without loss of efficiency or risk of pinch flats paid off with a race victory for Gilbert.

Shimano pioneered Road Tubeless wheel technology to create a ride as comfortable, confident, and quick as tubular systems, with the convenience of a clincher interface. Road Tubeless is available on Shimano Dura Ace WH-7850 SL wheels.

Française Des Jeux uses full Shimano Dura Ace components, Shimano Shoes, Shimano Wheels, Shimano Eye Protection, and PRO handle bars and stems.
